Good to see I'm not the only one playing with wheelie bins. When council gave us 3 bins I cut the bottom out of the green wast bin. Now it never needs to be emptied as the worms pull everthing into the soil.

I use a wheelie bin as my sump.

the neighbour left his wheelie bin on my front lawn for half a week, put it back on his, was on mine again, left it in his drive way...............was his last chance, next step would have been to bring it round the back and put an AP fruit tree in it

Are you sure he didn't think the bin was yours Steve and was only being neighbourly

Our local council decided to replace our round "garden refuse" bins with nice new square ones,on a positive for council , they supplied a simple ,easy to follow,methos to turn these old ones into compost bins. +1 for council.

People where asked to place a bright orange sticker on their bin if they wanted it removed and a bright yellow if they wanted to keep it. Driving to work on collection day saw some 85-90% orange stickers,,, BIG -1 for my rich neighbours,..... YEP I grabbed 3 more ,, would have got more than that but the Mrs rightly suggested we had enough for our usage.

It's the society we live in chappo "just chuck it away" appears to be a way of life for some folks

instead of thinking "now what can i make of this". Big BOOOOO to your neighbours

Yep Gnash,,,this one really dissapointedme,,they had an opportunity for a FREEand 100% recycled compost bin,,required only 10 minutes work,a saw ,screw-driver and 2 hinges.Lazy so and so's. I suppose the bin may detract from the looks of the Merc's,,,LOL.
I wonder what became of those thousands of unwanted bins???

Knowing how council works they would of dumped them in a hole somewhere. They do some strange things. We have a tip that uses large bins for people to put there trash into so it is not buried. Then they cart it 50km to the next town and its buried there. Think someone on council must own a garbagetruck.
