I know you are not considering it 80% fill is if your bottle holds 100 litre you only put 80 in [caravan bottle only 18 litres]

Thanks for input , much appreciated.
The data confirms that my household does NOT excessively use electricty.
We are almost green without trying. My family have decided that we would like to use 8KWH per day heating a warm-water system so we have warmwater fish available for consumption.
This added consumption would still see our total usage well within "normal" range.
The last thing we want to do , is act like environmental terrorists.

If the system does require more than 8 KWH per day, then I'll sacrafice my tropical fish aquarium,,I calculate it uses ( in winter) around 3 KWH per day.

 Looking good,I can achieve this and not be a major polluter and on 50-60 cents per day.

Must admit Chappo that I first read your figures as a "base" rate and "second" rate = $450/qtr (approx).... take it they represent two seperate quarterly bills.....

And here I was thinking you were an environmental nazi....

Be interesting to see what affect your renos have on your bill when you've finnished.... and just how the "smart meter" works out....

Rupert,,,I'm not ALL bad,,,just 90%.
Yep,,our power usage is VERY reasonable.

As steve CORRECTLY pointed out , cheap (off-peak) electricity still adds the same environmental load.
I do listen when things make sense. Cost here is NOT the real issue,,I can afford to use
40 KWH per day for the heating (about $2.50) but that is 40KWH worth of pollution, that the earth just doesn't need.

"Balance is the key",,,I'm allowing 9 KWH per day so the environmental cost is ,in my opinion" acceptable,,,if I need 3 KWH more, I'll get them by sacraficing the inside aquarium,,,if I need more than that,.....,then I call it as not within my environmentally acceptable pollution limits,,and give up the idea.

Our power consumption is only 10KWH/Day and that includes Home Office that employs a few ppl.
So when we switch to PVs & Solar Hot water we might be able to create a net gain for ourselves and put some power back into the grid.

I have never said that we were doing well on our usage, we're not. There needs to be lots of changes around here to improve things/

last quarter we used on average 100kwh's per day to run the house, farm everything including bore pumps etc. We are aiming to halve that this quarter by bringing AP on line and turning heaters and tropical breeding tanks off. We were ashamed of that power usaged and not a little bit amused by the bill ($1700) We have solar hot water, no air cond or heating and bottled gas. Soon to be installed 1 kw grid connect solar PV system
