I have just got some dried urea from our LPS, how many grams should I add per 1000 liters? All my readings are 0, Ph @ 7.7 ish.

I just want to get some nitrates

46% Nitrogen
1% Biuret?

A 4kg bag cost $9.75, should last a while

About a teaspoon every two days.... try it... test for ammonia, etc... wait till the ammonia level drops... add again... etc... till you get the nitrate levels you want....

Thats what I'll do, just wondering about the starter amount to initial doe.

No, it costs two cartons a week to get the nitrate level up

Just make sure with fresh pee or urea that you put a little in and wait a couple days before expecting to see an ammonia reading. Be careful not to overdose by adding more (it takes a little time for urea to convert to Ammonia.)

Yep, Put a small amount into a couple of growbeds yesterday afternoon, will test tonight

No readings above 0, so will add some more urea granules in the morning

Note about urea, it does not come naturally with the enzymes to convert it to Ammonia so it often takes longer for urea to read as Ammonia, keep your additions of urea very small until you get a reading or you may find a sudden overdose has taken place.

heh, I have found that out about humonia a few times, I have an interesting photo to put into my thread, have a look in 10 mins

I'll keep it all small additions in the big system.
