I think I can help with that-

http://www.atlaspub.20m.com/suppliers.htm

Redclaw is one of the speicies I would love to try but I need permission from Calif. Dept. of Fish and Game so what I'm going to do is make a list of everything I want to try and see what they scratch off. I've talked to the permit guy, he actually seems very nice so who knows!!!!

Thnx again!

Change that to: All of them, other than stickfins, are defunct. Sometimes the web is such fun!

Sorry about that. I'm only home for a few days over the 4th of July but when I get back, I'll look into my archives and see if I can find something more current. I know of one breeder in Red Bluff, California but he doesn't sell to potential competition.

Heya Poppa,
I'd love to help, but right now don't have any juvies to send off.

The US suppliers I know of are...
MibbyBlue in texas... ok, they're now out of business.
RedClawRanch... ok, they're now out of business.

Huh, here's one that's still around...

It's 'lobsterpond.com', but they no longer have their url!

It seems that while I was dealing with other things, everybody else went away!

Doug may have some he could ship you. (BlueMalibu) If you need his contact info, email me.
Vera may have some too, but my contact info for her is no longer good.

Bob Eddy in Mina NV may have some and may be willing to ship.
Right now I can't seem to find his contact info. IF you need it, or anything else, email me.

Take care,
Robert aka rassd71

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but I think I got one for you. I am a member of another AP chatroom and I asked this person if they had any for sale- this is the e-mail she sent back to me. I hope this helps you.

I am a hobbyist, so I don't often sell my crays commercially. However, I do
sometimes have some stock to sell off in the fall and spring - usually on
Ebay or Aquabid but I do have a couple of people waiting right now for some
brood stock in the fall.

I don't ship in the summer or winter as I would worry the crays would die in
transit. Temperatures between 50F and 95F are the ideal times to ship them.

I charge $10 for adult brood stock and $3 for juveniles that are an
assortment of 3-4 month old crays from various broods that are 2-4" long. I
recommend a ratio of 2-3 females to each male if purchasing adults. The
juveniles will be close to a 50/50 mix and can easily be sexed at about 6-7
months and they will start spawning at this age if conditions are right so
juveniles are a good way to get started.

I purchased my first crays from Stick Fins:
http://www.atlaspub.20m.com/rcfarm1.htm

They are great to do business with and do a great job packing and shipping.
I started with 50 juveniles and they started spawning about 4 months after I
got them.

They had a minimum order of $100 when I purchased from them so if you are
looking for less than their minimum, I may be able to help you this fall.

The stock I am breeding now came from Texas Aquaponics when they were
importing Cherax Park stock from Australia. These have been selected for
fast growth to large sizes and I think they do get a little larger faster
than the Stik Fins crays. Unfortunately, Texas Aquaponics is out of
business, but I believe Stik Fins also bought some brood stock from them. I
recommend asking about them.

Also, some states have laws against importing Red Claws because they could
be an invasive species in warm climates. This has put people out of
business in Texas, Nevada and California. It's a good idea to check out the
local regulations before proceeding.

I am in Kentucky and there are no restrictions. Indiana and Ohio are both
also pretty lenient about red claw farming as winter time water temps get
below 50F which would cause the crays to die.

Let me know what you are looking for and where you are located if
interested.
