Handy little conversion program to convert metric to imperial, imperial to metric... does everything

Zip file... will extract "convert.exe" to the desktop.....

Or you can download an installable version from here.... http://joshmadison.com/article/download ... or-windows

Quote:
There are two ways to download Convert.

ConvertSetup.exe (780kb) is a full InstallShield installation which sets up directories, icons, and supports uninstallation. This download is recommended for most users.

convert.zip (153kb) is a ZIP file of just the executable. You can unZIP it with your favorite ZIP tool and just run the executable. This download is recommended for experienced users.

Will it tell me how many roods are in a perch?
Or if OB's case, how many perches in a trout?

If it does ...

... then it'll probably tell you how many perch are on the rood....

... or how many trout you can get on a perch .....

From http://www.sli.unimelb.edu.au/planesurv ... unit1.html:
Quote:
There are other units in common usage, such as the Imperial system of feet and inches, with areas expressed in acres roods and perches. Other countries also have indigenous units of measurement, most of which now have metric equivalents. In Australia, early measurement was done with a unit known as a 'chain', being the length of a cricket pitch. Feet and inches were also used, so it is beneficial to know some of the standard conversions.

1 chain = 100 links = 4 rods = 20.1168m

1 foot = 12 inches = 0.3048m (exactly)

1 inch = 25.4mm

1 mile = 5280 feet = 80 chains

1 nautical mile = 6076.10 feet = 1 minute of arc at the equator

1 hectare = 10,000m2 = 2.471 acres

1 acre = 4 roods =160 perches = 10 square chains

Given these conversion factors it is possible to convert most other units into the SI system.

Easy :geek:

okay some of us counter-culture types, won't do business with Bill Gates or Steve Jobs! So that leaves us with free and open source!

Our Friends over in SA are leading that Charge with Ubunto/Linux. We users have no use for .exe lol We are "Off the Bill" I have been "Gates Free" for a little over a year.

I found this... simple water weight, it doesn't matter which language you speak PC, MAC or SA's Ubunto
