Another one of those language things. I have no idea why "sots" would be funny.

Sorry, bit of Ozzie slang again, there is an Aust dictionary on the forum somewhere

"You little sot" - normally referring to a young child who has done the wrong thing again (followed by a swift backhander : lol: )

also used in referral to a drunkard, but the former is more appropriate as I thought he was referring to his fish stuffing his pump inlet

Yep, and one of the the first things I found when I Googled it was "Sot or gamasot, a cooker used in traditional Korean cuisine". Surely not what anyone meant, so how could (this) one resist...

OK, starting next Tuesday, I'll track feed and results with DanDMan's charting program.

Keep entering data. I changed data bases and have to update some of the code so that the drawing program access the new data format..

Yeah, I should really start doing that last Tuesday :).

Oh, I almost forgot, I picked up a FT from freecycle. It had moldy water in it though, so I'll have to clean it out really thoroughly before it's usable. You guys think a weak bleach solution sitting for a few days would do the trick?

A weak bleach solution would kill whatever was in there. Then rinse well and let it sit in the sun for a day or two. You don't want any residual bleach left when you populate it.

So I went into the garage to feed the fish, and I find that my grow beds have fallen over. The table they sat on is broken and on its side. Best I can figure is that some relatively large animal came in for a snack.

So right now the fish are on a bubbler, and I've halted feeding for the time being.

When I can muster the energy, I'll have to build a new setup that is stronger structurally, and animal deterrant.

Well, they have no filtration at the moment, so I'm guessing I'll be doing water changes frequently.

That sinks! Image

Can you keep the bacteria alive somehow to keep from having to recycle the system?

I'm going to have to start another thread. I have moved (again), and will now be constructing an apartment system.
