 Well not in my ap but in my 4ft indoor aquarium.

Last night heard a funnny noise come from the 4ft Tank. Had a look and the middle peice of the lid had come away from the sides of the tank. did not look too bad so we went to bed. Woke up this morning and found that withought the middle peice the sides had bowed to such and extent that the glass cracked. Luckily id did not break just cracked badly. So emergency empty of tank and put fish in spare bin. So wife is going to organise a new tank today.

sigh. Frieday should not be this stressful

:) How magically it occured at night! You would have heard nothing if it was daytime until it was fully cracked

I can imagine you bailing the water - not too fast or you may hit the glass and crack it. Not too slow or it will crack anyway. All the time your heart are pounding... makes for a nice night time horror movie  .

hahhaha. yes would love something bigger but we are as big as any wall space can provide.

Drama continued over the weeked. 4 of my favourite cichlids committed suicide over the weekend (jumped out of temporary container).
Now all I have left is Stuart Granti 14cm, Hongi sp 15cm, clown loach 10cm.

So we ended up getting a replacement 4ft tank on the weekend. now I have to decide what to do with the fish. Problem is the hongi is rather agressive and will probably kill any small cichlids I put back in there, and cannot really afford to replace with new fish the same size (seems to eb $40-80 each at my LFS). Will probably have to trade them and start again. Question for Don the cichlid legend - how many fish cichlids do you think I should stock a 4ft tank with? Note I am currently using a fluval 304 cannister filter for filtration.

suggestions anyone?
