Apparently, I ruffled a few feathers on another topic site- The Golden Age. It would seem that it was so bad that at least one post was deleted.

If I have offended anyone, I do apologize but my question was not meant to be sarcastic, although it may have come across that way. My question was merely curiosity. My social graces are sometimes lacking and something that I will continue to work on. Please bear with me.

Personally I hope you don't "Change your social graces". I personally like the short version of the truth as opposed to the 'beat around the bush and hope they get the idea' type talk.

There seems to be a tendency for folks to think they can be ignorant and/or stupid to be 'coddled' rather than face the cold, hard fact they were wrong. If rather than tell the child 'the stove is hot' each time the child reached for the pot the watcher let the kid grab a pot hot enough to hurt but not hot enough to damage the child gets the idea.

I am on another forum where I am known for my kurt answers. It only seems courteous to me to research before I ask a simple question. Finally, many of the other members are now seeing the wisdom of requiring a brash questioner to do his own research first. Thing stick in one's mind if they take the time research on their own. They also learn a lot of necessary 'side stuff'.

Anyway, rant over .... your social skills are fine IMO.......

Ron

social skills,,,I missed that class ,, must have been out the oval having a smoke.

Actually this forum is pretty calm considering the large mix of personalities and backgrounds.

Wouldn't worry about it Angie, most of the moderators are kids anyway. (Not that there is anything wrong with that) :D
Empathy should be your guide: And yours Chappo.

While we are on the subject of administrative control what happened to Steve's little monologue on age guessing? :drunken:

Thanks for the vote of confidence members :(

We ARE volunteers. We do NOT get paid. We do this as a favour to Earthbound, and because we are interested in aquaponics and it's growth.

Once again, if you don't like the forum and the way we run it, Go Away. I, for one, am tired of copping abuse and disrespect for my efforts on your behalf.

I am not a kid, I have small children who treat me with more respect than this.

Ohhhhh, I hope you're not doing it just for me Jaymie.... :)

Look, everyone be bloody nice. If not, warnings and the "ban" button are going to to be used a lot more liberally around here... The moderators are damn legends for putting up with a lot of the crap happening around here lately, and I'm starting to get really sick of the niggling comments too.

Yep... my thanks also to the mods for the job they do....

No value at all in arguing with the ref... just likely to get you carded, benched, thrown out of the game, suspended or banned for life....

Good humour, banter and spirited discussion has always been tolerated within the forum... more so than any other forum I've ever participated in.... and with an almost lack of serious flaming....

Add to that the VAST amount of knowledge about AP and the ingenuity of the people here....

And I for one can't understand why anyone would want to change the way it operates :dontknow:

Yes I had had a few beers (and now have a hangover)

How it should have read was

Wouldn't worry about it Angie,
Empathy should be your guide: And yours Chappo.

While we are on the subject of administrative control what happened to Steve's little monologue on age guessing? :drunken: Most of the moderators are 'kids' anyway. (Not that there is anything wrong with that) :D
I think the question was can you guess how old I am? and a series of qualifications, I couldn't find it again.

Probably dosn't look any better in the light of day but was having a lighthearted swipe at Steve.

If I offended you Jamie, I apologise  , I have no problems with the control of the forum.
