I like the flowers. Where are you going to set up the new tanks? Will they be for fish or plants?

I have no idea Dave. Can't fit em in the basement. Maybe dig a hole and make a garden feature with em. That idea has merit but not much energy for digging so just not sure.
I am leaning to believe they are not UV stabilized, they are white so best to have them covered in some way. I'm out of room and the better half will more then likely dig a hole for me if I don't get things organized.

UPS delivers and after a slow assembly this is what it looks like. I'll have to sweat some fittings on then give it a test.

Re the cooling John this link may give you some ideas http://builditsolar.com/Experimental/Ra ... proRad.htm

It also has some neat links from it to both heating and cooling.

Nice compact unit - can I ask what the model name and number is of the solar tube device?

Try these for a heat exchanger - they are readily available, ok price, made of stainless steel. Often used for heating biodiesel or wvo for use in vehicles:

The unit is made of 30 plates of 304 Stainless Steel that have been brazed together with pure copper in an oxygen-free furnace.

The copper part may be a problem there Hamish

Yep, even though the price of those is very reasonable I would worry about the copper part. All the ones I've seen on the net that say stainless actually have copper too in the brazing.

I have worked with those sealed exchangers before and they do a good job, but for a fish water application I want a heat exchanger that I can take apart when the flow deminishes due to clogging. The plate exchanger I have will fit that bill just have to purchase the gaskets and I'm in business.
Thanks for the links though.
I'll get back on the model number etc.

The guy selling those staino exchangers on ebay insists they are NOT brazed. Insists they are 100 % stainless.
But he may well be an ex used car salesman:)
