Wonder what these are used for normally - looks like a great tub and even looks like thy might be designed to stack - which would mean you could cut one down and stack on top as a growbed.

Anyone know what these things are or a source for them?

Known as a "mega bin" Hamish.... ask your mate Gary D (Murray's mate), he uses them in his systems....

Commonly used in vineyards, fish processing plants etc....

Manufactured by "Dolav", "Nally"... etc etc

Thanks for the heads up and the pics.

Yes - the missing edit function is a pain in the A$$. I have read atleast 10 posts with people complaining about the edit function being gone. Who do we lobby/bribe/coerce to get it back :)

They look like an awesome way to keep fish! Anyone know what they normally sell for price wise?

I guess that they are used for food so should be food safe plastic - and they look very strong. I figure they are also UV proof given they are used outdoors.

Some in the picture even look like they have lids.

Food grade - Yes
UV Stabilised - Yes
Have Lids - Yes, optional and extra (pricey)
Price - How long is a piece of string..... Depends where you get them and what you get...

Most aren't larger than 800ltr capacity.... more like 600-700ltr max, as you can't fill them to the top.....

You can even get insulated ones.... good fish transporters.... :D

THanks for the info and pics - if I grow my system (should I say when I grow it!?!?) then this would be a great option. I just need to find a good supplier in Brisbane - any hints from members would be apreciated. Cheers H.

feels good doesn't it mizzie. I have some good plumbing pics for bathtubs in my original Tragic Greenhouse thread. I will have a look over the weekend see if I can find em for ya. I have 8 bathtubs inline, plumbed with a 90mm stormie underneath. Bit of work but finished up looking pretty neat.
