FarCry is the all time greatest game. I have had some issues though on my FX-60 rig, I get BSOD sometimes (FarCry software bug). Waiting for FarCry2. If I think how much I spent on my PC I could have an awsome AP setup right now. Awell! Yeah CS:S is a great game, well CS in general. Battlefield 2 is pretty good. UT2004 is a classic great game.

I don't play online much, but Joel and I LAN it up quite regularly. All of those TimC mentioned are the go. Joel's PC can't hack Battlefield2 though. Also Age of empires/C&C/LOTR Battle for middle earth and the like.

Farcry was excellant but it's LAN was average. Bring on FarCry2 (called Crysis?).
I have the free FEAR multiplayer downloaded but haven't tried it yet.

Oh yeah I forgot fear! Very awsome graphics. I think games like FEAR, FarCry and UT2004 (which appear on most benchmarking reviews) really stand out for graphics but still have very good single player gameplay. I am waiting for a game to push the limits of my system, untill then I am attempting to pass FarCry on Realistic mode... not easy.

As far as online games go, runescape is the only online multiplayer game i have played (oh i think i played Age of empires online once too...)

Counter strike, All the battlefield games, and mobile forces are all good fun games to play at lans.....

I got voted no 2 strategist in Rise of Nations, used to warm up on the neighbours in LAN games 1 vs 3. Our clan went on to become world champs.

Played a lot of AOE as well. Trying not to play lately it's too time consuming at that level. Luckily RON petered out as everyone moved to Rise of Legends, so I just never got the new game.

Definately RTS for me, all the way.

Haha, classic... there are a few nerds among us ;) While I don't spend more than a couple of hours every couple of days playing games, I do enjoy having a crack at CS:S, or just playing my XBox, or, at the moment, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.

Consoles are fun too, and I can even convince my GF to try those. Much easier than mastering keyb+mouse for some reason. My brothers have XBoxes so every now and then we have a nerdfest and get a few mates around to have some drinks and blow the crap out of each other. Halo 2 is the best fun as far as consoles go IMO, but then I haven't seen the XB360 yet...

They are massive time wasters though :) My mate gave me his Steam account to stop him from playing Half Life and CS 2 online, he had to go cold turkey he reckoned, and now I'm hooked too... I'm a bit of a :newb: though... I spend most of my time watching other people cause I have been killed already.
