I am a little religious. I am a Christiam because that is the common faith in this country. In another country I might easily chose Budhism. I go to church semi-regularly.

However I'm not sure that my religious nature drives my interest in aquaponics. I think it is my inner nerd. I like to experiment. A desire to be self-sufficient also plays a part.

Yes, I am a Christian. I'm very committed to my faith and involved in serving and attending at my church. :) God is great! And the more I hang out in His creation I think... woah! Now that's an Artist's heart!

I'm here because I care about the environment and my (and everyone elses) health so I enjoy looking at alternative ways of being productive. Also, this may be helpful as a humanitarian self sufficiency idea someday? Who knows where life leads...

Hmmm, lets see... Do I go to church - you mean the building where church happens then . Church is a verb, it is something you do with other people - it is when you get together as share about God, praise God and Give thanks to God as a collective group. So do I go to church, not often - do I do church, yes, almost every day (I teach in a Christian school and am currently studying to complete my "graduate deploma of theology in education")

I'm agnostic. So, not particularly religious, but respectful of the main ones.. Buddhism would be the closest mainstream religion that I might connect with.. otherwise, pagan 'religions' are what I'm most interested in. A Christian friend of mine said I had 'the spark'... But I didn't get it.

I believe, but not sure what in.. does that makes sense?

For me well said nova-
In 'my' world I believe I am god and I create the world 'I' live in.
I choose to be responsible for what goes on around me.
How I feel, the things that 'happen'.
To me we are all playing god we just have to 'get'our godlyness.
Enough.

I am Catholic, I don't go to church as often as I should. I work at a catholic school so we have masses every so often. I try to make the time to get to them.

As for Aquaponics and the connection with god.... well in the sense of creation and making better use of the land and gods creatures, I'd say yes. You could also say it is a moral connection that helps us WANT to make the world a better place even if our contributions are comparitively small, we are still sharing and teaching our experiences to the world.

9 replies so soon wow

"Church is a verb" Mr. Mad you really hit the nail on the head wid that one

So there is one Rasta
one Buddhis
And every one elece is Christain.
Cool

My belief is that as humans we don’t invent but only discover gods work. I know a true Christian would despise any type of building that is what we would call a church today.

But are there any other Rastas on the board?

Nova, that's really funny that you bring that up, chi...

I don't actually believe in chi as a religious thing, but as a scientific fact! :D The work/study I'm doing in Equine Therapy (yeh, go ahead & laugh at that visual.. it's ok  ) has led me to believe in 'chi' as scientific fact, as it's gradually being tied in with Western science & medicine more & more. I was brought up in Asia, so it's not a foreign concept to me at all. :D Perhaps this is what I believe in, as a religious thing as well..? (I need to feel & see & experience to believe, I'm not so good at having 'faith'.)

Caribean-grower: When you say rasta, what is your definition of rasta? My old capoeira teacher (Brasilian) believes in the gods Exu etc... is that what you mean by rasta? Or is the rasta in your part of the world different from that of Brasil? I understand that the colours of the gods is where the 'rasta colours' or red, green & yellow originated from..

Yeah, I would love a definition of Rasta too.

As for me, I just try and do the right thing by others and hope that I don't burn!!

I believe in karma (in some sense of its definition) and mainly doing the right thing by others too.

I'm too sceptical and scientifically minded to believe there is a god: prove it to me... :)

I'm happy for people to believe whatever they like if it makes their life better/richer/happier etc, but I've seen and experienced too many things in this life that convince me that there is no god. That or he/she/it is one sick puppy. That is just my experience though, others have lived in different shoes .

We'll start talking about politics next ;)
