I must say , this is another area that a lot of could share in.
I often get seeds ,, get a packet with 1,000 seeds ,, what the heck am I going to do with 1,000 ??? Can store them , but as with fish , fresh is best.
I'm a member of diggers club , so get the discount ..... love to share some of the seeds and costs. Restriction apply to WA and TASSIE I think but if anyone else is intertested we could make a little order club. I'm not going to count out miniscule seeds ,, but divide pack approx then post to members is little hassle.

Anyone interested?

looking for Coriander (cilantro). All the seeds I have purchased (non-heirloom) over the last 2 years have just gone to seed immediately.

skygazer,,,Blinken Coriander,,I've had very mixed success also , most times go's to head ( when they do that keep them going a while and use the roots,,just wash very well and the root has a lot more flavour than the leaves. I tried some Mexican Coriander last year , much better in NOT going to head, very similiar flavour to standard coriander. Seeds for that available at diggers.com.au.

timmy,Diggers Seeds has been good to me. I've used them on and off for over 10 years. They mark their catalogue as to wether that seed c`an be sent to WA, downloadthe on-line catalogue and have a look through.

they seem ok. damn they are preachy though, all i want is to buy some seeds, not be hit up for petitions against gm crops.

and is it me or is every 2nd thing they sell "topping the taste tests"?

timmy,I've deal twith them for years but never spoken a word to them.I just fill out the on-line order form, pay and then get my seeds.
I'm against GM crops but don't want to be badgered. I'm against poor Tuna being caught in Dolphin nets

I LOVE WHALES,,they taste great. :blackeye:

I'm a Cristian but I will NOT be door-nocking

There is a huge difference between information sharing and outright badgerment.

"forget monsanto, the real threat is farm land being converted to bio fuel crops"
I'll forget monsanto when they apologise for being the most evil bast4rds on the planet
uh , who supplies the seeds for the bio-fuel crops ?

Ive got diggers seeds and theyve so far been about the same as any other seed in terms of growth etc , but the taste is DEFINITELY better from the heirloom stuff

I'm pretty jaded on things being hyped up, and diggers certainly talk up everything.
i grow veggies because i love to cook, and the only way i can get decent quality veggies that aren't over priced is to grow them.
ever tried to buy an egg plant from -any- shop? they are banged up and full of seeds.

timmy , I agree and I grow around 80% of the veg we need. Use on line or FAX orderiung and you don't have to listen.

Just wanted to add a link of heirloom seeds, I started to make a thread but I'm glad I looked around and found this one. http://www.seedsavers.org/Content.aspx?src=aboutus.htm
The the widespred use of hybrids are going to cause the loss of certain subspecies of veggies. The small number of market varities keep better on supermarket shelves, but do not taste as well, some do not even come close. I am glad to see the organic food market helping to keep the heirlooms from literally becoming extinct.
