Crikey Andy you're just down the road, must start a Qld topic to see if anybody else is interested - that means panic in sorting out my larger system
I see the "oh shit" factor about to kick in.

Piccie of the grow bed and tank setup, been running continuously now for 2 weeks with no adjustments -just needs some plants

Facing due east so gets the morning sun and yes BR the lawn needs mowing, nice of you to notice 8)

just noticed - you can see the high tide mark on each grow bed(about 20-30mm below gravel level),
the water consistently rises to this level before the siphon kicks in - was going to put black plastic around it to cut out light but will see how it fares.

20mm and not a problem - had 10mm black stuff on previously and using a "T" or elbow drastically reduced the water flow, conduit has those lovely flowing connectors and I used a "T" inspection to branch the water, other advantage - it is straight and doesn't kink.

20mm was the outlet size of the pump

no way - they're fantastic, the fish love it when they blast in unison and the note is pure harmony to the ears.

I have got it so one bed is cycling about 30 secs faster but can't get it any closer so they go in and out of sync, one improvement that I will make in future is to raise the beds slightly and use 45 degree bends to give a better fall.

I did think of using one for both beds but would have had problems when both beds discharged at the same time,

thanks for the feed back guys
Les
