no worries, do a forum search for picture resize (its a sticky somewhere) for a power tool that allows right click resizing.

the mussels you have are exactly the same as the ones I got from Drakesbrook.
Are they sold for eating ? if not for what reason?

Slade I don't think they are sold for eating, Neil the guy at Aquablue said he has never eaten one, but a mate of his who has told him they tasted like mussels but a little bit tougher, and obviously less salty, nothing wrong with a chewy mussel so don't know why they are not commercial, as far as I can gather these are a different species to more common mussels and are rare in the wild, they can live happily in still water, as most mussels need to live in a flowing river or ocean, but you should visit Aquablues Site mussel section, Rupert provided link earlier But Here it is Again
As for eating, I have to try one but will let them work first,

Nocky

I put mine in a small pool in the waterfall of my pond,
I notice they bury themselvs in the sand allmost all the way,
if you pull them out it seems the foot or whatever is filtering the sand, where I would have thought they would filter the water like sea mussels.
If this is the case do you think they will have to bury themselves to feed corectly
or are my obsevations misreading what they are doing.

Slade

Yeh is a good link if you want to know about tank mussels, mine seem happy moving around my tank, no sand, but have put one in the small gold fish tank we have inside, this one has buried in the gravel, and he also seems happy enough

On that link, I read the following:

Link Shown Above wrote:
The Flood Plain Mussel Velesunio ambiguous is a mussel that thrives in static water and will readily breed and multiply to massive numbers if the conditions are right.

Does anybody know what the 'right conditions' are for breeding?
