Here is our first model. This one is built with a small pond pump from Lowe's, 100 gallon and 50 gallon agricultural tanks from Tractor Supply, gold fish from a koi pond store, and a heavy duty storage tub (27 gallons) for the header tank. It is a really simple flood and drain with holes in the bottom of the growbed. It was tricky to get the siphon to work and the water level right, but she has been trucking along perfectly for a few weeks now.

We probably will have to add grow beds as the fish grow. We have 10 goldfish--two fancy and 8 were feeder fish--rescued from the clutches of pet turtles :flower: .

Hi Caroline,
I'd love to see your system, but all the links lead to the same spot in photobucket. Would you verify and correct? Pleeeeeze????

Yeah, Rubbermaid does it again!!!

I had considered doing exactly what you have done for a breeder setup. Then I went with aquariums for the breeders so I could see what was going on better.

Love the pink dress, btw. My princess and my tomboy both wore a the same model; the tomboy wore the blue version with striped leggings, the princess preferred the pink with tights.

I love those outfits. They actually hold up to all the rough and tumble she gives them. I just ordered two more for summer. :D

Nice and compact. Didn't see the header tank though.
Pic's brought a smile to my face. Hide the car keys they grow up fast, the children not the fish.
Well done on all counts, congrats.

I know what you mean about the fast growing kiddos. Yikes. The kiddos I used to babysit are all married now. My kids really love this whole aquaponics thing. Now if I could just get them to not mess with the fish.

Oh, the header tank is in my other post--I got a little excited and posted when I was previewing.
