I have about an 1/2 acre pond on my place would it speed things up if I filled the whole system with pond water?

Make sure you have a sieve ( fine mess) on the incoming water,,,hate to see you with predatory fish in your system.

Jaymie,I'm not sure what you mean by clean. It's a small farm pond no run-off other than from my yard and the woods. I don't use any chemicals in my yard there is maybe a little rabbit poo run-off from our pen of rabbits that we raise,but very little.

Oh and Jaymie thank you so much for always being so helpful. I have come to the conclusion that I must ask the most boring dumb questions because it seems that you and one or two other folks like Chappo feel sorry for me and help me out. LOL!!

Oh Mike :oops: just doing my job ;)

By clean I meant from chemicals and excess animal poo. So by the sounds of things the water would be fine. Are there any fish living in the pond?

Mike,,don't ever think your questions are dumb,,,as,quaoted inhere "the only dumb question is the one not asked".
Iwouldneverhave thought to meshincoming water UNTIL,on my farm in Thailand I was looking forward to harvesting my fresh water prawns and when we drainedthe lake there where 10 VERY fat "snake-head" fish and only a few prawns:(

Funny you should ask, the pond dries up every year due to the fact that it is surrounded by so many trees, if we have a somewhat of a dry summer by Aug. it is dry which it did this year. We had some friends come out last week and their kiddo's where dying to fish so I told them to have at it, but it had only been holding water for about 4 months, and I didn't think it had any fish in it. WRONG!! One of the little fellows caught about a 6 inch Blue Catfish. :?
