Some of you use flexible black poly pipe to distribute water to your growbeds. There are numerous pictures of members systems in various posts throughout this site that show a picture of a black plastic, in-line, flow control valve that looks like it fits into the black poly just as a barb fitting would. I have looked at 2 of the major chain hardware stores here in the U.S. and can't seem to find them. What are they and where are ya'll getting them??????

Thanks,

TXPower

modify the one in the first picture.

they have a moulded 'mesh' on the inside................just set the valve to open and run a drill through it to remove the mesh. save clogging.

Thanks guys, I knew they were ball-type valves, I was hoping someone could point me to a manufacturer or brand name for the one that ya'll drilled the mesh out of, it is exactly the type I was referring to.

Thanks,

I looked at Tractor Supply's website and can't find what I need on-line, I'll go to a store and look. I have searched the net extensively and can't seem to find a supplier of 3/4" x 3/4" barb, plastic ball valves. I'll keep looking. It's not desireable to use steel(except maybe stainless steel?) or brass, right?

Thanks,

Damn man, I looked for an hour, I googled till I couldn't stand it. I guess I was using the wrong search terms or something. I went to the hardware store yesterday and bought standard 3/4 inch PVC ball valves and 3/4 male/threaded barb adapters to incorporate into the black poly. It works but its bulky. Thanks a million Outbackozzie!
