They have survived til know, and pond looks good, if these guys were prisoners on Alcatraz, there wouldn't have been any prisoners left, haven't escaped the tank yet though, they always want to go on the other side of the mesh, they do go back to the correct side and live in the hides I built, will stop them climbing the mesh by putting some 4" PVC pipe across the top, will post a pic when happens, Beer shed is the project for now, and have spent the weekend building a new web site for our Car Club View it Here, let me know what you think

Good to see post is back again, all is still good after a coupla weeks, and my biggest fear, the filter, is working fine, the little munchies are hiding well now, as weather cooling down, have 11 adults living up top and will have to wait til October to see how rest works, have secured 2 more tanks and will try Golden Perch (Redfin) here with a full on vegie garden, so you haven't heard the last of me yet, will follow advice, but as I am, I will try somethings differently, have more pics up soon of some minor modifications I had to make, and why, if your bored check out this site, my project and other passion, CARS.
Beer shed is still next, starting this weekend, man this will be a wicked shed, if I put the goldfish bowl with plant in shed, can i post Pics?? :drunken:
Glad this forum is back, man if everyone had to repost!!!!! or lose a wealth of info
you must be stressed EB

Nocky,
I am sure that EB has a backup routine in addition to the ISP backup system, to ensure that all information remains available.

Hi nocky. Golden Perch and Redfin are 2 different fish.
Redfin, Perca fluviatilius Linnaeus is an introduced species and a noxious pest, not to be returned to river systems under any circumstances. Characteristically it has 6 or more tapering bands across its body with red caudal, anal and pelvic fins. It devastates native fish populations.
Golden Perch, Macquaria ambigua is a native freshwater fish of the Murray Darling river system. It is this, your friend/contact is prolly referring to. There is a pretty good write up about it in wiki. It is a fast growing beaut eating fish that the industry is trying very hard to farm on a larger scale.
Be interested to see how the marron go.

cheers for the pics Rupe. I was looking at the reddies pic thinking they had a fair bit in common with tilapia, apart from the coloured fins. Similar banding, size, shape etc. If i could be bothered looking it up I guess I would know!
Redfin are a perch so I guess that may be where the confusion was.

I would doubt the legality of growing redfin in WA. They are vermin.
