just wanted to say

"Yep, nice analogy. Arn't pyramid schemes against the law? Now just have to convince the courts!"

as are taxes, wireless wiretaps and every single thing pushed through in the patriot acts...when you make the laws illegal isn't a problem ;)

our current systems hierarchy
Greedy oil guys
Greedy governments/Banks
Greedy corporations
Greedy people
Our ilk/the environment(nice guys finish last anyone?)

Sure i do alright but if i was greedy cutthroat and evil to the core i would be many times farther than where i am. :(
gl guys

What is it with these people.! They want to rape every natural resource and exploit it for profit. Clearly we are on top of peak oil and its only going to be down hill from here. In 10 years we will need twice a much oil as we do now. China is sucking up everything now. Oil (Old stored up solar power) is not the answer. The only true energy source we have is the sun; bio, heat, solar, wind. So why they heck dont we use it? Oh, thats right oil is cheaper.. Never mind... :?

I would rather see our tax money being applied to wind generators and all forms of solar energy. Forget fuel cell cars. Just give me a 10,000 psi cylinder of hydrogen, generated from solar heat, to bur in my existing cylinders! In fact I would already be making my own hydrogen (its 100+ year old perfected technology) except that I can no afford a compressor to pump the hydrogen to even 3,500 PSI; which is required to have enough on board to make it useful in a car.

If you want to get REALLY upset about the price of gasoline...

Every time you pay $1 for gas, you are paying...

8 cents to the oil company
22 cents to the government
70 cents to OPEC

*these figures are for the US.

BTW, I'm all for using wind turbines to electrolyze water into H2 O2 and then using the H2

I'm pro-algaeculture to biodiesel, I think that could be a good way forward.

Algae appears to be the only way forward for biodiesel. Food crops just dont work large scale.

here's a scary and possibly un-thought out problem................

CO2 is not the only green house gas, just the the one that we produce billions of tons of....................

Water vapour is also a greenhouse 'gas' (remembered the IR absorption lines from being an instro.......................)

SO here is a scenario for you....................man gets off his collective asses and makes hydrogen production via RENEWABLE sources a reality. Man then converts a major percentage of CO2 emitting devices over to water vapour emmitting devices........................man then realizes that he has done little to curb the greenhouse effect. Anti-GHG advocates will say "told you so"..........a group of 'brilliant' scientists will search google, find this post, and tell the government the problem...................government will discredit them for 50 years.................idea will become main stream and man will spend another 50 years debating..................man then thinks SHIT this wasn't a very well thought out plan (which he is apt to do) and has the relevation that REDUCTION in CONSUMPTION of energy was also a key part of the plan..........................................man will cease debating as their primary tool being a computer no longer works because the lead solder in the keyboards wont stay solid as the surface temp approaches that of Venus ;)...........................

from wiki:
Quote:
Water vapor is a naturally occurring greenhouse gas and accounts for the largest percentage of the greenhouse effect, between 36% and 66% [20]. Water vapor concentrations fluctuate regionally, but human activity does not directly affect water vapor concentrations except at local scales (for example, near irrigated fields). YET!

The Clausius-Clapeyron relation establishes that warmer air can hold more water vapor per unit volume. Current state-of-the-art climate models predict that increasing water vapor concentrations in warmer air will amplify the greenhouse effect created by anthropogenic greenhouse gases while maintaining nearly constant relative humidity. Thus water vapor acts as a positive feedback to the forcing provided by greenhouse gases such as CO2.[21]

Our humidity here is always really high anyway, what a little more water in the air? LOL. Really there is no way to have a non natural life style without causing some problems. I dont think people will be willing to go back to all hand made natural things and walking or giving up their air. So I would hope that since the hydrogen is made from water and solar heat the net water content would be 0. 1 Gallon of Gas can produce up to 13 gallons of water (dont remember where I heard that) when burned perfectly. So we are already putting water vapor in the air. Also, hydrogen when combusted gets 3000 time smaller in volume. Not that it means anything, but I think we would all agree that giving up our cars is not a great idea.

There is the MDI air powered car(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmqpGZv0YT4).. I guess you could use solar energy to pump up air pressure for our cars. It can not get any greener than that! Zero emissions. Now, people here in the US will never go for a car that small we are spoiled selfish people.

NZ major contributor to greenhouse gases is a result of millions of cattle and sheep farting and belching..... world wide it's a huge problem..... true....

NZ was even thinking of imposing a flatulance tax on farmers....

Serious research both in NZ and Australia...

But Scottish researchers may have found a way to stop them doing it...

yes, all contributors but CO2 is the easiest to reduce emissions of.

reets work just changed out about 200 globes for energy Ef. ones. 40,000 tones of CO2 saved ( per year)
