sorry, I usually don't comment on thread title typos, but I had to for this one ;)

Are you keeping your arms in the water all the time to make sure the muscles stay fresh?
;)

I have a dozen freshwater mussels in an IBC with 15 Silver perch. The all seem to be just fine.

I had a few in my cichlid tank inside the house but one of them died, not sure if they were attacked or just died?

aussieponic has had a couple hundred in his sump for a little while now. They seem a natural for AP in that they eat crap that is missed by the fish so helping to clean the water.

Looming, what species of mussel do you like to eat. I would like to try some myself. (or common name).

Skygazer and Twin-do you know the species of mussel that you speak about? Are they edible?

I understand the state of Alabama is doing some research on freshwater bivalves and other mollusks.

I would love to include some in my system, especially if they are edible :)

Few others have them also (names escape me at the moment).......

The Freshwater Mussel "Velesunio ambiguous" is native to Australia.... you can get them from this mob up around Tea Gardens NSW.... they'll freight most places...

I'm considering them either in with some yabbies/marron or in a duckweed tank.... or the sump
