Search

This is one that many have trouble with.

At the top of the page click on Search

In the "Search for Keywords:" box, type your query. Try not to use too many variables, it bogs the search down. You can use AND and OR and NOT to refine the search.

You might know who wrote the post you are searching for, enter their name here, "Search for Author:"

Most importantly, to reduce your search to manageable results, click Posts not Topics. This will return you only the posts with your subject and not the entire thread where that word was mentioned.

Click the "Search" button.



Bookmarking

If you find a useful topic that you would like to keep track of in the future, you'll notice at the top right hand side of the post there is a button "Set a bookmark for this topic". Then when you want to find your bookmarked pages, theres a bookmark button in the top main menue....

Recent Topics

On the left hand side of the portal page is a 'recent posts' button, very handy for finding the most recent posts.

If you have a complex search, use google, and add site:backyardaquaponics.com to the end of your search, then google can do the hard yards for you and your search wont bog down. :-)

Very good tip KP.... I use this method also...

I use site: all the time w/google, and have been using it to search byap/forum. But today, my google-fu seems weak...

any way to set a reply to my PM box rather than my email? I'd rather not have to go to another site to read who replied to my posts. It'd be nice to come here and see a list of replies to my posts, not just a list of recent posts.

At the bottom of this page, you'll find a "Watch this topic for replies" link Poppa.... just click to enable for each topic you wish to watch.

If you want to remove the email facility.... edit your profile accordingly

Roz, Poppa I believ is aware of this, but wants them sent to their PM message box, NOT their email...
I don't think this is possible poppa, but Joel surprised me lately with what this forum can do, so you never know :-) He will reply if something can be done.

Ok, thnx. I hadn't tried the "watch this" option so i'll give that a shot to see how well it works.

On this new forum how do you up load more than one photo

I haven't got that far yet!

OBO may know he seems to have managed it

you have to hit the upload attachment tab again..and it puts them backwards still grrr
