Just one question Zix, is this 5000 litre tank that you are building since you found out about aquaponics 1 month ago. If so, from start to 5000 litres in 1 month is one heck of a start. I think you are up there with the most addicted. Join the club and welcome aboard.

Very interesting and nice work. We have our system in place but now I'm considering how we can setup a small indoor system with our new aquarium. Your pictures are very inspiring.

Having spent nearly six months in Portugal surfing in 1978... I know that you guys just love your seafood.... well all food actually...

And I for one could live there just for the food....

We have a recipe section here on the forum Zix.... feel free to post anything you think might be of interest

Is that a sail fin pleco in the front there of that tank? Over here that alligator gar would pay for your entire system if were a little bigger... They are very expensive here... and somewhat illegal... :P

interesting setup,i heard arrowanas are good eating but very pricey. The red golden ones here are very expensive. In asia arrowanas are signs of good luck. They can grow very big also.

What is the dimensions of your 5000 l tank?. How do you compute the capacity of the tank? Are you putting a glass panel in you big one?

Welcome to the club!

this fish are pet fish, mo way i gone eat my 400$ Aro, the big tank is because they are growing a lot and ther current tank is getting small.
this is my fishroom and i grow big fish like cats, channas,GG that now are near 40cm and 0.5kilo,for some time i have been using Water hyacinth
(Eichornia crassipes) to help filtring my tanks and because my GG eat tham so i have put over the tank.
on my big tank (3MX2MX1m) i gone put a glass panell , my original idea was to put some boxes that the water fell whit some leca? dont now the name , is same i have on my tanks as substract. but since tham i intende to use edible plants insted  .
what type of tilapia you guys use

"leca" is known as "hydroton" or expanded clay balls to most of us Zix...
LECA... as in "light expanded clay aggregate"
