I will admit to hoping more than expecting if you know what I mean - this is really an incredible system. The fish are getting big too - really fast. My advantage will be (and perhaps a problem) that there is no change - same temperature all year long - same day length, it should be very interesting.

Just find out the name of the place to buy fingerlings here - and they have Cachama - which are also known as Red Belly Pacu - in other words, the huge fish.

Does anyone know how Pacu tastes?

Milestone today - first veggies were consumed. Radish greens (with baby radishes) and mustard greens - plenty for a mess of cooked greens with my eggs this morning - very tasty. (if you have never eaten baby radish greens - you should try them)

Also, I had to thin the lettuce so plenty of lettuce was harvested for salad for lunch.

I am starting to drool as I look at the fish - so they probably are next. Since we bought fairly large ones, there are 5 probably over a kilo now.

No doubt the locals are watching with interest.

Definitely - everyone is very fascinated - especially with the cherry tomato that appears to be threatening to absorb the town...

Status of the tomato plant that ate Cabanga - 5 weeks old, 2 meters long - has probably 30 small cherries tomatoes on it. The workers were going to stake it up - and build a ladder. I informed them that it will be better to train it to follow the fence around the property. Since the property in question is 70 acres, I assume it will be large enough.

Ouch - had a fish die off - didn't lose all of them and the ones that died when large - so they head for the skillet, so no loss really. We got low on water and so the pump didn't pump - and the green goop got a bit overwhelming too - currently we are thinning it out with fresh well water and the remaining fish are doing well.

Time to go net a bunch more "volunteers" from the pond.. Guapote this time.

The continuing saga - here is the growth after six weeks. Our plumber by the way noticed that the mustard greens were yellow - come to find out, that series of grow beds weren't cycling correctly. This has now been corrected and they are so green now to almost hurt your eyes.

Here is after six weeks of growth.

And a closeup of the first cherry tomato planted that is only transplanted 6 weeks.

We are harvesting radishes, lettuce and basil now, the cucumbers are starting to flower and so is the zuchini.

We have been munching on the thinnings of the mustard greens as well. I am expecting to be buried under cucumbers and tomatoes - and that won't be a bad thing!

Here is a photo of the Zuchinni, it was transplanted from the garden and I thought for sure it was just going to die - but now it is making up for lost time - probably going to need the machete before long...

So are we right to assume that you consider AP to be the best thing since sliced bread CRT?

Let me put it this way, I think it is one of the few things I have ever done where the results exceeded my expectations...

I don't know how fast your veggies grow, but honestly, I am afraid to get near some of it. Especially the cucumbers right now - being a vine it might choke me or something.

Perhaps I need to hang a sign "Caution, dangerous plants - do not proceed without a machete..."
