Someday I'm visiting Australia. Got some other mates from other forums there also. If anyone was willing, please be kind enough to give directions from the nearest airport to your place. Especially Faye and Joel

PM would be fine if ya's don't want the whole world knowing where you live

Are you human?: Only after 10am
Location: South West, Western Australia
Hey Charlie, welcome to visit down South Western Australia, my system is only small (SO Far) but we have a few dam size systems down here as well, mainly for freshwater crays and perch, and all are getting converted into growing plants and vegies via their systems as well, hope to soon have pics of a huge dam aquaponic system soon (not mine), I was going to stop at the marron for a while and get into growing vegies after marron established, but I have the bug so tank 2 with fish is not far away, a map of where I am is available BY CLICKING HERE will be available for around 3 months and then will disappear into cyber space, page is a tad slow loading, but beautiful country down this way, hope you get to follow your dream soon

Just follow the signs to Jandakot airport! If you can parachute it is just short of the runway.

Really hit me bad several years ago when I was keen on metal detecting and some fella did a magazine article of big chunks of gold being found over there, then this scientist fella from there figures bacteria is causing the growth of gold nuggets in underground springs there and in streams here in the US.

Then I find a crayfish forum. I love crayfish...can't get enough of them and Australia has the biggest and best! What you there might take for granted is wanted big time over here! Most Americans are enthralled by Australian "anything" for some reason and want to go there. Most don't know or consider the nasties though like the black spiders that kill ya and such.

Then AP. That settles it! I'm going someday, somehow. You all seem like a very laid back and likeable bunch but you also seem to know hard work and how to do things. My kind of folk!

Well Charlie, I am in southern Victoria. My inlaws found the biggest gold nugget ever in Australia, (google 'Welcome Stranger.') My home town has a Ford manufacturing plant, (longest ever sports sponsorship in the world with my footy club, dating back to 1925.)
I would love to hear the dirt on Bill and Hilary.
Oh, and I have a kick ass AP setup!

If you all aren't already, you ought to look in to carbon filtering of the water there...secret buckets of activated charcoal thrown off in some stream/spring pools...filtering of your well water with carbon. Micron gold in precipitation will collect in it. Then ya have to figure how to refine it but as with everything else seems like Australians have a knack for such things. There's some doing it over here in areas where gold is. I'm in a non-gold part of the country. Those doing it are a very secretive bunch. I guess if everybody learned how to grow gold it wouldn't be worth much 8)

I need to quit thinking about it

Just imagine though...a box full of honeycomb like panels made of this carbon material sunk in a rich micron gold bearing water source for a year...once the gold precipitating bacteria got going it wouldn't take long to make em solid gold filled chambers. It's getting warm in here

Most gold I ever found in nature was about 50 flour size specks from the Arkansas River that washed down from Colorado. Find a lot more in the wastewater plant grit separator  Rings and such people lose down their drains. Lot's of loose stones that pop out of sets in hot dish water or showering. Amazing what's in the sewer lines sometimes... Sometimes a nice bonus in the way of cash that some druggy flushed along with their paraphenalia...

Ah I need to get focused

I should also add that selective sorbents have been developed that target individual metals in solution while carbon will pretty much attract everything. Such sorbents are being used to remove murcury and other non desirable heavy metals from contaminated streams and watersheds.

So when the ranger asks what the heck is that thing you're messing with by the river, you can say it's a toxic heavy metals collector and you're helping to clean up the environment

Google sources...

Precipitation of Micron Gold
Precipitation of Murcury with carbon
