Well they say all projects go through several stages before completion...

Concept, planning, acquisition of materials, commencement and ultimately commissioning....

Well today (finally) marked a project milestone with commencement of my Hydro-AP Mega System, with the "first turning of the sod"... so to speak... (see last posts)

Sometime ago I decided to utilise a good sunny un-utilised area and an under-utilised "lean-to" along the side of the house.... initally with the idea of setting up a small hydroponics operation.

First I thought I'd just attach some hydro trays to the lean-to ...

I figured I need to construct a floor under the lean-to area to house some pre-filtration for the NFT ....

A 600ltr "Otto" bin and a feed trough I picked up cheap will act as a sump and pre-filter growbeds, probably with tomatoes.....

A late night bout of insomnia led to the impromptu purchase of an 8000ltr fibreglass tank (for the princely price of $300).... which had to be picked up and removed.....

Needed to repair a couple of "drainage" holes the previous owner had very kindly drilled to drain the tank :roll:

Acquired a couple of other tanks to add to the project. One a 1500ltr tank which will become the sump tank and the other a 300ltr tank that will be a growbed...

Decided to go the whole hog and use the whole area along the fence for hydro trays.... This meant a few trees and shrubs would have to go ...

Originally I was going to use about six 800ltr "mega" bins in the garage as tanks... that meant I had to clean the garage up and add a few "extra" power points and lights...

Waiting on the neighbour to bring the bobcat over... grass keeps growing.....:roll:

Here's the overall position of the hydro trays... 5 tables in total... each 6mtrs long and 8 channels wide....

Two side by side at the southern end (3087), one along the middle fence line (3147), and another two at the northern end (3148)
