Haven't added anything except plants.

I filled another blue barrel today with water and have the old aquarium filter circulating the water and adding air to top up tomorrow.

True, but watch your temperatures at pH > 7.5..... doesn't take much ammonia to kill fish....

And levels, even if not fatal, for any extended period will stress them... resulting in bacterial/fungal infections... or stunted growth

Max temp today (in tank) was 22.3oC Rupe, I will check again tomorrow and also check the water I'm gonna add for Ph.

It just appears strange it should jump so quick.

The Sp's look fine though and are still feeding.

:lol: The only thing I can think off is the GB media, Scats have been through the milling process and could contain anything.
All I can do is monitor and go from there.

Put some water aside in a bucket Gnash... measure the ph... add some scats.... let it sit for a while and measure ph again
