Had my first feeding frenzy tonight :D , found some bloodworm blocks at the back of the freezer that i used to feed the bream with and thought why not.
Chucked the block in and waited, after it dispersed a bit it was on for young and old.
The goldies didn't even get a look in, the SP's went off to the point off jumping halfway out of the water.

On another note the ph level in the tank dropped from 7 to 6.4 in the space of 24h, has me wondering about seemores ph drama (insert twilight zone music)

Any Ideas???

gotta be careful with that. i was feeding my silvers one night and about 5 minutes later witnessed one jump right out of the tank. very lucky i was there at the time to rescue him. i haven't found any dead ones outside the tank though.

Had another good fish feeding tonight, I limited the feed to a small amount and it was all gone within the minute.
It certainly is hard not to over feed when they are gangbusters but i will increase the food slowly over the next couple of weeks.

Gnash - what has your water temp got down too? Any nitrates ?

Ive got 23 deg c and no nitrates lol

Not worried about temps atm, just done a testing and ph has shot to 8.4 ??? WTF I can't work it out, the only change in the system is the plants I added yesterday and I washed the roots before I planted.
