Found a company in the US that makes tanks like Synaptoman's cool mesh ones. They call them Quick Tanks:

That could be very simple! What kind of prices are they asking?

Well, after some run around to get a sales person for my 'area'..

10 ft. diameter tank can hold 2,055 gallons (7,786 liters or 7.8 cubic meters)
Price $435.50.. No liner.

I'm not in the market for one now, but perhaps when I build the rest of my system I will consider it again.

Thanks for the info DDM, why don't they quote the liner? They appear to be a liner-making company afterall...

Hey I know this fella who made a tank by joining a length of hardware cloth with J-clips like are used to make rabbit cages. Put a layer of 6mil plastic around the inside and installed a 12ft dia. vinyl swimming pool liner.

It would have worked real good if the fella would have thought to put something hard underneath. The burrowing crayfish poked holes all in the bottom

Cheap & Easy Tank

About as cheap and a whole lot easier are these Sand n Sun pools from Intex. I see these in about every other yard around here during summer and would likely make a good liner if nothing else.

Anybody here ever use the Sand n Sun pool like pictured above for anything? They are incredibly cheap price-wise and say three layer construct with a polyester inner. I'm considering but would be interested to see other's experiences first. I do know of a fella who had some crayfish in one once a couple years ago but lost touch with him and the forum it was on lost the info in a hack.

If I did use it, would likely make it a liner but hey if it holds up on its own then why not?

How can they sell it without liner when it is written on the website as part of the kit?!

And 435 $ is expensive for a piece of mesh and geotextile, even with wire lockers...

Makes a cheap tank after all but it is a rip off of selling that stuff that price.
