Well, finally got through to a fish supplier and am getting some catfish. Just now they don't have any smaller fish but they got lots of 8-10" fish for 50 cents each. They are only an hour away. How many dare I get?
I suppose if we get more than the tank can support, the cook will be processing and freezing a bunch! Minimum order is $25 so we will probably get 50 fish.

Hay Mark, want any catfish?

I had been a little worried not due to the number of the fish so much but more due to the size. See they didn't have any of the smalluns left and they were selling 8-10" fish for the price of 5-7". I really didn't know what 50 8-10" catfish would look like.

Anyway, we went and got the fish!!!!!!!!!

All is good so far.

Hey TC. Congrats on the catfish. I'll pass for now unless you get into trouble and really need to unload some. I still have one small Tilapia and I've caught 10" catfish on smaller bait!!!! They really are agressive little devils. If you put Tilapia in the same tank, be sure they are at least 1/2 the size of the catfish!!!!

I expect that if I put any tilapia in the same tank with catfish, they will be separated by cages!

I'm starting to think that the Tilapia will be indoors this year since I don't know how cold it will get in the big system outside over winter and I will need something to grow my lettuce with indoors over the summer anyway and that would give me a chance to see if I can breed them.
