For more tilapia? or Bristlenose? because if either of each then they are in constant supply.

The tilapia slowed there movement and breeding down a heap when they had no heater. We just got one in the tank and i think one may be holding.

I think Robyn is coming over today to get her tilapia and in the tank bellow we have about 30 fry (5mm-1cm) which are been raised up.

Also with the bristlenose they will now focus on eating the algae trapped within the terracotta. Its hard to see them when they are in a 500 liter tank but it was just luck that i caught a glimpse of one yesterday, the little guy flew out from under a pot and sat on my hand :D other than that i never see them.

Nic

Hi Nic,

I know, we both posting replies at the same time :)

yeah, the heater was a good one too, wasn't it?? Im just worried about the cord length. 2m maybe long enough, but three would be better. You know of a good heater with a 3m cord?

Just let me know when the fish food comes in, and we'll organise a time to collect it, or you guys can come out to my place. I also asked tim for a few more terracotta bits too, want to build a new hide for the fish and got an idea for the marron. Will PM you.

JJ

As for the cord i will have to measure mine again but i am pretty sure that 3m is hard to come by due to tanks not been far away from power points normally.

There is one brand called Jager which make tremendously long heaters (hge surface area) and they would be best to heat 500 liters. Though the cord wouldn't be very long and they cost about $80 for 300watt versions.

Both. I will be putting in a 1000L tank, so will be looking for about 10 bristle nose and 30-40 tilapia fry.

..and Robyn told me she was going over to your place today, so expect her soon :)

Wow Jeff - you have peas already! I am just a tad jealous! And the tomato has flowers - that is wonderful - hope the bees do their thing!

Yes, last night was a bit colder than it has been - but I wouldn't have dreamed it would have dropped your ft temp that much! Mine was 20C this morning, down from 25C on Saturday arvo - didn't measure it yesterday, so don't know the the precise effect of last night.

Well i had an hour free today, so i finally put up the mesh for the climbers to crawl up. Here's a pic.

I think it should do the job just nicely :)

Its been a while, but all is going really well, i have eaten the famous first pea - actually dad did lol

And well i am now working on the roma tomatoes you see below, there are 4 in total that have fruited, and about another 6 flowers, its probably the wrong time of year but they are still going, so i will leave them.

Also planted about a dozen seedlings, the failed carrots and leeks. I put them in pots of soil and now there big enough, tansplanted to the ap system just today, so hopefully they continue on too.

Maybe put some more mesh along that veranda roof edge, train the beans around the corner.
