This is the Yellow-Fin Bream research tank..... 10,000ltr...

It currently holds 300kg of fish..... that's right 300 x 1kg bream... about 4-5 years old.

They say their trails have reduced the "natural" grow out time for fish that size from 8 years to 4-5.....

And they are near sexual maturity....

Another surprising aspect is they appear to have all grown out at the same rate.... virtually no differentiation in size....

Get to play with them in a day or so .... will post some pics then

say 'Hi' to Dr Stuart Rowland. He is THE silver perch guru. They are taking a half ton of the organic pellets from Queensland to run some feed trials.
Hope ur getting a lot out of it. Looking forward to a comprehensive report!

The big.... big ... difference about the way they grow in ponds.... is the very thing WE avoid..... ALGAE.

This is considered (for around 09:00) to be a perfect (and perfectly healthy) bloom ....
