How are the roots, nice and clean? No build up of fine solids on them is there?

nope, nice clean roots, white, not smelly, and plants are striking well from cuttings. I must find the camera and post a pic of just how white the broccoli are compared to plants in the gb's

That's been a problem for me, despite having the NFT after a 100 litre growbed. There is alot of fine solids coming through into the NFT and sticking to the roots, especially on the top couple of pipes. Unfortunatly I dont have much space to put a secondary filter inbetween. I have to resort to pulling the NFT off of their frame, taking the pots out, and washing out all of the fines a few times a year.

beat me to it. fines from the medai dont count ;) dad has those and all is well.
