WOW indeed! Nice mate, now I have something to aspire to

Not to make excuses, but I did chop them a bit early cause they were weighing down the plant, I wont next time just to see how big I can get them... :)

Simmo, you're generous in your praise.

Boris, from seed to seedling takes two weeks, to fruit another couple of months. Once they begin a fruit, they're like mushrooms--a week and they "weigh down the plant" as Simmo_77 says.

Simmo, that is one cute dog.

How was your cucumbers? When I let mine grow as big as yours were in the picture, they were full of seeds. I had to pick mine a bit earlier and they were perfect!

Lol - yeah she is TOO cute (she gives us those eyes when we tell her off), and she's beautiful so I quite like Bella...
There were some other pretty crappy name suggestions that we knocked back, from the obvious (Snoopy) to the ridiculous (Dogalog, Poochy, Flopsy) - its much easier to come up with names for male dogs IMO

Hawaiinewbie, yeah the first one we picked was huge and had started to go yellow and yep it was chock full of seeds. These weren't too bad, but were picking them a lot smaller next time. I've got about 10 that are within a week or so of picking and heaps more small ones coming through. We've also got at least 10 more zucchini and some small squash coming on as well, probably will pick a few zucchini tomorrow so Cally can make fritters out of them. I've finally got a few nice size tomatoes that have avoided being munched by caterpillars too.
Basil is still going strong and trying to bolt, but cutting back the tops every week is keeping it at bay. Spinach is still powering along, and my parsely (which got burnt and came very close to dying) is finally showing strong growth.
The only two failures have been the celery and eggplant, both have barely grown past the size they were when I transplanted them, and the capsicum which, of 6 plants, only 1 has grown at all and started fruiting...

Mate those look like Koonacs, notice the one bump in the claw of the top one.

They might look like them, but they're not gnash... I'd love to get some Koonacs though, but i think they are hard to come by in the wild, and not available at all for aquaculture as far as i know...

They are a lot bluer than the pic makes out and the chelipeds in particular are the giveaway.

If you can wait until winter I have a mate in Katanning who catches them in the creek near his place, those and long neck tortoises???

1 - You should see the rest of the place ;)

2 - You're spot on about the stubbornness - she chews everything in sight, and has a particular penchant for electrical leads. We tell her off every time and usually have to resort to grabbing her by the scruff (gently) to make her let go. She is learning not to do it, but sometimes you can tell her off and drag her away and she will go straight back and chew it again. When she does it more than a couple of times she gets put into her playpen and gets ignored for 15 minutes or so. She HATES that...

3 - Cheers mate...

Gnash, my old man tells me he used to catch Koonacs all the time as a kid with a piece of meat on a string and a crab scoop, he grew up just outside of Cunderdin...

Are the tortoises good eating???

Full of seeds wouldn't be a bad thing necessarily would it?

After all in health food shops you can buy them for nut/ museli mixes.
