Don't stress AM... it takes them a few days or even weeks to work the hooks loose... Speaking of Black Bream I finally have some for my aquarium... From a little pet shop called the "Moore River"... about an hours drive from Perth. I get some pics up tommorrow... I mean today but after I sleep...

Yummo - I too would be very interested to hear the weight. Nick - did they have any noticable fat in the gut cavity or in the flesh?

VB - there was no fat at all it was a very lean fish.

There are no excuses Nick. 500 litres of gravel washing as punishment I feel (at my place ).

Nice fish Nick...remember seeing him in the tank on my last visit...was trying to work out how to sneak him out of the tank and onto my plate at the time

Don't think I could have done it as much justice as you have tho

nice one nick,

your barra look noticeably different to mine in body structure. mine seem to dip down more just above they eyes. i wonder if this has to do with the breed or the environment, perhaps both.

I believe there are a couple of different types BF. The ones sold in SEQ have to be of a particular type.

the different look could be either age/size related or it could be that mine are currently living in a half IBC and thus are limited in sitting around and waiting for there food, this might affect the way the muscle is laid down.

all being said am very happy with my fish and happier still that i have two left to eat.
