readings today 2/26/2008 5 pm
pH 7.6
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 40 Looks like I'm now getting some higher Nitrate readings, plants should like that.

I put 400-500 mL into the dripper bottle after taking sample.

Here are some pics.

Offhand, it's hard to see signs of iron deficiency in your pics. Are you seeing yellow leaves with green veins? That's iron deficiency.

Earily on the mustard was showing yellow new leaves with the veins still more green and now the big kale in front left is showing lighter yellow/green new leaves while the veins still seem darker.

I haven't seen cleated Iron at Lowes or Home Depot (they both sell things like cleated palm nutrition or cleated citrus nutrition but they both have other stuff in them) so I'm wondering where to look.

I had to go to a local plant nursery to find the iron. Its cheaper to order online.

Ok, so the dripper bottles don't really work for the purpose, they either drip too quickly or clog and feed not enough.

So now I've adapted the gurgle garden idea to act as a dosing system.

File comment: The air pump is in the milk jug with a slit in the bottom to put the pump in and allow air while keeping the pump safe from weather.

The diluted pee is in the juice jug with the gurgle tubing.

as an idea for your pee release sysyem, how about a sealed bottle with a tiny hole top and bottom. Air in to the top hole lets liquid out the bottom hole at a slow rate. If your rate is too fast can you dilute the pee with pond water to bulk it out

Duckpond,
That is essentially what the green dripper bottles were but they tend to either clog or drain really quickly. I didn't manage to find a happy medium with that method.
