Hey Amacafish. The Dingo is sold under licence by TORO in the US and i believe in a few other countries. There are other mini diggers on the market. Similar price to the smallest of the bobcats. I got it for my landscaping business as it has a 1000mm wide wheelbase and some cool hydraulic attachments including a 1000mm x 100mm trenching chain that is great for scareing small childeren

They are not as powerful as the bobcat as they have only a 1 ltr 3cyl diesel engine. but very manouverable in tight spaces

I finally got the sparky to come and move the power feed for the pump, so i can get going again. The plumber is going to fit up a water pipe so i can put a sink near the sump tank for cleaning fish. I want to recycle the fish cleaning water into the sump so the marron can eat any fish scraps.

This weekend i want to do all the pipework between tanks and growbeds, and get the footings started for the limestone GB supports.

I started making some standpipes for the 3 fish tanks. I am using 150mm blue brute pipe. It is a high pressure PVC with 20mm thick walls that used to be used for mains water. I got 3 meters for free and i can cut a 80mm hole in it and glue some 80mm pipe into the hole without using a fitting. 150mm pvc fittings are way too expensive. I am having trouble getting the cuts flat, as i am using an angle grinder to cut the pipe. Any ideas?

use a drop saw? i have the same problem with the grinder ;)

Low tech.................ummmmmmmmmmm.............how about getting a fitting like an elbow or union to fit over the pipe and then use the lip as a guide?

obviosly you'd have to do the free hand cut first then tidy it up with this method

Its not easy to cut big diameter pipe perfectly square freehand.. i can`t cut straight to save me life.
A manual precision mitre saw would ideal for the job, they`re not expensive and come in useful for all sorts of stuff. I bet someone you know has one in the shed.

i tried the drop saw but thepipe is too big to get in one cut.
I have cut it free hand and it is close, but i want it closer. The elbow idea sounds good although as the pipe is no longer used i dunno if i can get a fitting. How do you get the fitting straight?

What is an exhaust pipe cutter? is that like he ratchet pipe cutters the sparkies use?

Yep :) Little teeth/wheels that cut the pipe when you rotate the handle around the pipe . Sorta like a round hacksaw.

Alternative to fitting: use a piece of flashing (aluminum?) or paper and wrap it around. If tightly wrapped, it will be square and even. Scribe with pencil. Cut with handsaw.
