Hey Guys,

I've got a 2200lt tank above my AP system, I plan to use it to auto top up my system when it gets below a minimum level (gravity fed). I plan to bury some poly pipe from the tank to my pond so it's hidden, the problem I've got is what to put on the end? :?

I'm hoping for something that is relatively hidden. My pond drops about 8 inches when the growbeds are full (and overflowing through the stand pipe), I would like it so that if it gets any lower than this, it's topped up to the minimum level. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm hoping for something enclosed in a tube, a vertical cylinder if you will, with a poly barb on top, sort of a plug and play device :) I've got a design in my head, something I could whack together, but if something exists, no point reinventing the wheel :P

Cheers!

Old toilet cistern, can even fine tune the fill height, must be a heap around with people converting to dual flush.

P.S. may have some Sunday (the buggers been at trade school in melb ;) )

:P is that... good?

OK! I was wondering where you were going with your first post :P

Hopefully they work without pressure (or low pressure)? As I will be gravity feeding it, I hope it just opens when the water level falls below where you place it.

sort of......while there is no exterior moving parts-

• The valve needs to be cleaned periodically depending on the cleanliness of the water source.
• Wash the valve and valve parts with fresh water. Dirt, rust, sediment and sand can build up on the valve and cause it to malfunction.
• The valve has two very important holes that run through the center of it. If either of these holes becomes clogged, the valve will not shut off.

A standard float valve does not have these problems.

OK, well the water I'll be feeding it is from my tank, not the AP system :P So it's crystal clear and gunk free. :) I thought that too then slapped myself in the forehead when I actually though about what I'm using it for... I was like, hmm, but the waters full of... wait a second *slap*

Seems like the 1/2" version will work at 0lbs of pressure! You win again gravity! (The 1" requires 8lb, so no good for gravity fed.)
