how can u tell if u have 2 many fish?

they push each other out of the tank?

if you have the grow beds to keep the water clean and the conditions for the fish are good. You would find in practice though that, yes you can have too many. You would find it difficult to filter enough.

they all die and you can't see the water through the floating carcasses

I rather doubt that requires too many fish - just an unlocked gate...

they have enough population to evolve into sentient beings , grow legs , and put YOU in the tank to harvest your waste to grow duckweed ?

The way I'd tell , if I thought I had too many , was that my stomach was making a funny noise and I hadnt eaten for a while

Basically, if the water quality can't be kept good, then you either have too many fish or the other side of the coin, you need more filter/grow bed capacity.
