I have not posted anything lately because i have been busy building the system.

I fixed the drill hole by using a pop rivett and some pond silicone.

Boris 01 and i clad the outside of the IBC's in tin sheet.

We cut a square in the tin so we could get the couplings done up and then rivited aplate over the top.

I made up a 110mm socket and spanner set. Ok its rough, but it only took half an hour to make out of scrap

We fitted the couplings and used marine silicone to ensure a good seal

Next we installed the tanks. We had already set the tanks out before the hole was dug, and so the connecting pipes were all the corect length

Tank #1

Tank #2

Tank #3

It was a ong day and we did install tank #4 but it got dark, so no photo. We stopped after that

Now i am filling in the hole, waiting for the electricial to finish the electrical connection.

I had him run a new RCD in the meter box,and then a feed out to the system site. Now he will extend the cable to where the power box will be.

After that the plumber will fit the water pipe for the sink.

then limestone and ...

It's going to be a fairly big system, at least 200 kg of fish on site, at least a fish a day, not bad even if you'll have to find a way of doing exchange for red meat. Nothing like a beef steak ;-)

Did you calculate to feed your family with the system?

Another question, sorry, does the red big boy's toy wash gravel too? ;-)

Anyway have lots of fun with your new toy...

wel Rupe i hadto use a shovel to tidy the edges and screed off the floor

I calculated the size basedon the space i had available, but it had to be big.

Ys the toy will wash gravel. I intendto use the rake bucket lined with shadecloth to wash and move the gravel.

I'll keep it in mind and one day i'll get my best friend ever! ;-)
We don't have little thingies like that here, they a bit bigger and cost really big money. We have his big cousin here on the farm but it doesn't dig well, a bit to heavy for the motor power.
I'll try to find one send in parts by the mail one day...
