Tis a bummer Monya, but as said earlier in no uncertain terms, honesty is the best policy.
People will realize this and your business will grow because of it.

Did you let your prospective supplier know the results of the tests Monya??

What did they have to say about it??

I'd actually be tempted to advise DPI/Fisheries.... is there any obligation to report these kind of things?

There is no disease as such, and as the health testing is done by the DPI vet... simply a parasite which can cause problems and may be hard to get rid of with untested remedies for silver perch, so we made the decision not to go ahead.

KE we are sourcing another supplier reccommended by the DPI. Hopefully have fish within 2 weeks. We have a major goal to get good quality broodstock and then reduce the amount of fish brought on site by breeding our own.

The silver perch are arriving tomorrow (Monday the 10th of March)!!

I had a look back at my emails about this batch of fish. My first email to the first hatchery was in July last year, so since we decided we would get them it has been nearly 8 months wait

Anyway, tis gonna be a stinkin hot week again this week  and fish stress will be a bit higher than normal, so if anyone is desperate for their fish, you can come and get them or organise us to deliver them from Wednesay onwards. Otherwise, we would prefer that the fish have a few extra days to settle in, and any weak ones can cark it here rather than at your place, so from the weekend onwards they will be ready to go. Prices are as on page 1 of this thread.

We have oxygen here, and boxes, so transporting a few hours should be no probs at all.

Cheers

Stu and Dan

All good things come to those who wait and from your perspective it is better to gain a reputation for credibilty.
What do they say look after your customers well and they will tell 1 person, do the wrong things and they will tell 10 others.
I personally think you are on the right track!

They arrived safe and well. A couple of little ones were a bit chomped, but out of 10000 fish, we ditched 10 on arrival that were a bit trashed, the rest of them look very healthy :) Was a bit nervewracking putting them in their new homes, ended up with 2200 in our AP system  that should get the nutes going  Will have to move them as they get bigger, but at this stage it is only 5 kg's for 10000 litres so no problems with overstocking yet
