OI! I didn't have a choice as to where we settled! :P We originally came from NZ (yeah I know! 200 more lashes!) and for the first year we lived in... Sunshine... You know why, Dad thought it sounded like a nice place :P That didn't last of course, we quickly moved west to The Marsh where it felt a little more 'normal' for lack of a better word! Then I took off to the Army and then settled in Ballarat while doing Uni! Stayed here ever since :) Love this little haven of mine!

Can't wait to get some big rocks and finish the waterfall! :D

I've been testing everyday :P Stuffs happening and I haven't got any floaters! (YET!)

Mates bringing around his aquarium water and filter gunk tomorrow! I'll whack that in and keep feeding the system 4g of Urea a day. Would be nice to see more than just the pH and Nitires go up, all in due time I suppose! :)

nice. can you keep a tabulated running sheet of all those figures? would be a nice comparison for newbies regarding what to expect if they use your method.

What are the three PH's hard to tell.

Regarding ammonia, two possibilities,

one: you have sufficient (i always get confused wtih the name) nitromonas to cope with the load

two: still working on it.

No worries, anything to help fellow AP n00bs!

I'll update the table every time I do a test for the next 2 weeks, if the levels are still in flux towards the end I'll keep going for another 7 days. :)

Hahaha, that's what send my first batch of goldfish to AP heaven  Second batch doing well after I threw some pH up in there and lathered them in stress coat!

They're the test results for the water my mate brought around from his aquarium. So much gunky goodness! Hopefully that's the sort of results I'll be getting soon! I put the water in today (25lt) poured it directly into the growbeds. Be interesting to see what kind of effect it has on my test results tomorrow, if any! :o

Testing today shows that the Nitrate is still rising, so happy with that, the pH seems to be stabilising, but the Nitrite is still going up slowly.

I'm only adding a teaspoon of urea a day now, and if the Nitrite goes up again tomorrow, I might cut that back to half a teaspoon, or wait till it hits zero and put another teaspoon in. Then wait till it his zero again and repeat. At least something is happening now :)

Kenour, you're recording your pH at 8.0 - 8.5. .... from the photos it would appear more like pH 7.4 - 7.8 ????

Or is that just the light from the flash???

Are you looking at the real one or the joke one :P The one that shows 7.4 is seed water I put in from my mates aquarium. My water's pH started at 7.8 and has been slowly going up.

Edit: I'll remove it to remove confusion :P Either Steve's away for the weekend, or Mrs Steve has said 'NO BYAP FORUMS ON THE WEEKEND'... :P Jokes ruined now anyway!
