edit: have the Dragonflies only got 2 wings!?

They have 4 wings but they can fold them up neatly.

Way cool! :)

So they only fold their wings up when they want to mate?

Wish I could have studied entomology when I was at Uni - I'd gladly have swapped with any of the myriad database subjects!

No, these guys can fold them up any time.

There are two kinds of insects we call dragonflies, true dragonflies and damselflies, one can fold it's wings up and the other can't. :)

Think she might be ineligible KP - Faye is the partner (business Rolling Eyes ) of the bloke that is running the comp (what's his name again scratch )

I know that Ell, but the rules state she can't win it, she should enter just to have her pick where all the other cool pics are. It's more like a gallery to me. I don't care if a winner is ever drawn

That is a good idea Kuda, just having photos only all in one place so that people can scroll without sorting through the words. The photo comp. has actually closed. It must be a tough decision because the judging is taking weeks.

Those dewdrops are beautiful, I have seen the exact same thing in my system. It is a part of the transpiration process and has a special name which escapes me for the minute. It is very fine and exquisite on the delicate leaves of dill. Something I had never been aware of it in the outdoor gardens. I am noticing more in an aquaponic system.

Aha gunnation is the name of the effect of dewdrops on your plants. I believe it is part of the transpiration process.

Mealy bugs are bad, mkay...although they have not affected me nearly as much as aphids, thrips, caterpillars...etc.
