sub part J section 32.1 of the rules and regulations clearly state that if the member is in ownership of a dachund then it MUST be pictured.

Any falsification of toes will be investigated

I'm still working on a domestic scale creature (either pet or child, we don't have one yet.) I kinda think of the many little lizards around here as pets and we have even had one living in the house for most of the year but most of them are too quick to get a picture of. Anyway, One day I'm sure some toes will make it into a shot.

Steve, I really must get a shot of the paperclip I had to use to get the flush mechanism to work. I always think of it when I see your posts.

Well the second dose had an effect!
Today's readings
pH 7.8
Ammonia 4 ppm
Nitrite off the scale above 5 ppm
Nitrate 10 ppm

Perhaps I should go plant some broccoli to be ready to use the nitrate as it keeps climbing! I'd better hurry as the cool season might not last much longer here.

Ok, planted some Broccoli (it's a good heavy feeder).

Started digging again. Made sudden change to plan. One end of the big in ground tank is going to be a couple steps so that will probably reduce my total volume by about 1/6th so probably 500 gallons aprox total. Might reduce grow bed size a shade if materials make it convenient then (like 8' long instead of 9' since 8' boards are easier) but I'll let the materials that come to hand (like pallets) help make the choices.

More digging

Good stuff TC

you can really draw a picture with all those readings.

leave the dosing for now and see how long it take for the ammonia to reach zero.

i know fish produce it 24/7 but you're adding in batch lots.

Ok, I'll let it reach 0 before next dose.

Been busy today. Progress on the large in ground pond/tank. Will post some pictures in a few minutes.

keep track of how many days it takes to reach zero and what the nitrite reading is once the ammonia has reached zero

Steve,
I am keeping a paper record of all the tests and dates as well as having the online record here on the forum. I'm definitely still in the Nitrite spike time zone, nitrite has not fallen yet in any way. Luckily no fish yet so nothing to kill.

you may be more along the nitrite down curve than you realise :) dont forget, if you're dosing with ammonia but your nitrite remain statically high, then there is still a fair amount of processing going on highlighted by the fact that they are not rising further :)

I'm still searching of an appropriate scale creature or object. Only pets we have are the worms and they aren't very photogenic.

Here are some slightly more photogenic creatures but they aren't very cooperative about posing in planned pictures.

File comment: This big black one wasn't cool with staying very still so the shot is blurry but still kinda cool. I think we are into lizard mating season.

More digging was done today. The pond/tank is now shaped up.

And starting to fill.

Gratuitous toe shot! Working in the liner is a good excuse to take shoes off.

Effort in first, result out second..
