They're a bit little, saves money on plumbing using bigger tubs, less connections and junk :P I've just finished putting mine in, worked out real well!

Oh and Kuda, a 3/8" drainage hole works perfect for the tubs when filled with scoria! Using a 15 min on 45 min off cycle :) A 10mm hole drains too fast, a 9mm too slow, 3/8" juuuuuuust right! Suppose you could use a 9.5mm if you want, I got a set of imperial suttons for $20, v.nice! A 9.5mm by itself was $13, so made sense to get the pack :P

remind me kenny, are you using slow drain?
I want to use autosiphons.
how long have you had your tubs flooding, and have you noticed any bowing alond the 2m edge? I'm thinking about bracing mine.

Yeah mate, slow drain, takes 45mins on the nose to drain, so I always have water flowing.

No bowing as yet, keeping an eye on it, I'll let you know if I notice any :)

Do you think these grow beds (Tilkey ) will require side supports if we used Hydroton to as the media?

I doubt it with hydroton, I personally don't think they need them with scoria. Sure 2 of them have bowed a little, but the fish aren't dying the the plants are still growing :P

Sky, I have 6 of the Tilkey troughs and have slight bowing with gravel...think hydroton would be okay without the need for side support

Try one of these, as it's now in the elders product line, you'll be able to get them from any elders in Australia. If you have any problems, tell them to ring Simon at the Ballarat branch.

Cheers,

Kenny.
