Ok, it Should be up for good now. Rang the hosting again, they said they couldn't see anything wrong, but they would get someone higher up onto it this time

They ran a diagnostic and found the application pool needed recycling (whatever that means) And said it shouldnt have the same problem for ages!! So heres hoping the gremlins are gone for good!!!

Sounds like they are running IIS 6.0 Dan..... wont go into the mind numbing detail... but having "re-cycled" the application pool, things should be fine as they say for quite some time....

Unless, some new web site application full of bodgey code triggers multiple error codes and hangs onto large chunks of pool memory

Oh, and Dan....

Rule #1 ..... ISP's will ALWAYS tell you that there's nothing wrong at there end.... and then dial the support team frantically to check anyway.

Rule #2 ..... IF there is a problem... the support team will fix it at some time and everything will suddenly be just fine again.....

Rule #3 ..... Now that everything is OK again.... it was obviously a problem at your end anyway..... SEE RULE #1
