Seen these down my local B store made in Italy no recycled stamp on them for 35 bucks.
Might be a good growbed for someone as there about 400 mm or so deep.

It's what I'm using as Grow beds, they have a bit of give in them but are well worth the money. If you want to have them stay square then you will need to have some sort of frame around them. Also the bottom does need a lot of re-enforcing as it also tends to bow out.

I'm hopeing to see some more in our local B stores, hmmm may have to ask them when I go there tomorrow.

H

wow, on special... or maybe it's the 220L version I'm referring to. My B is permanently out of stock. I've seen them twice in 9 months, and both times was broke...

Sorry finally got around to measuring one,

they are 800mm long, 570mm wide, 350mm deep inernal measurements.

For external measurements add about 50mm to the length and width to allow for the lip.

I found them at B in Ballarat today (the 220lt ones), I think I'll pick up a couple and tack them on the end of my system and use them to grow root veggies and carrots and junk :) (soon as I figure out what to use as a grow media!).

Go a 75:25 mix of vermiculite:perlite kenour .... or maybe even straight vermiculite....

F&F used vermiculite quite successfully and the 75:25 mix has been used as a seedling "starter" medium and general hydro media for years.

the perlite I got from B is driving me up the wall - its too small and it gets into the outer pipe of my autosiphon then blocks the syphon over the course of a few days . gotta keep cleaning it with a coathanger

shadecloth seems to be keeping it at bay a little

Absolutely Boris.... perlite as a media is a pain in the arse....

And just can't be used (by itself IMHO) in a flood and drain system..... but mix it with vermiculite (75:25) and it stays bound into one mass....

And dosesn't float like perlite alone when flooded

A 100ltr "sack" of vermiculite ($30 - $35) mixed 75:25 with perlite will fill a half blue barrel

Edited :

Added a pic .... see the far right barrel..... that's what it should end up looking like....
