Will got ready quickly and took the pictures and got them on for me. We could not get more than 3 per post, so the order is not what I wanted. The spray from the return when the sump comes on will be fixed with a screen, I think. Love from my husband, also our pastor, wants me to get to church, I am 20 minutes late, so got to go, will be back after service. Thanks all for help.

BTW, a quirky little thing with uploading photos..........Add them in the reverse order that you want them to appear, IE: 3 2 1 and they'll appear 1 2 3 in the post ;)

I'm going to break the "not before 1am rule" and go to bed now (BIG day tomorrow, gotta be out by 7:30.

satisfied that i have seen your pics :) Thanks

Steve

Great work Joyce. I wish I could go outdoors with my system but winter temps here around Sacramento get too cold for Tilapia. I moved my 4" into the stock tank and lo and behold two females spit out fry. I have no place for them at the moment as I am trying to do too many things at once. For now I have to let the adults eat them. I am trying to locate my lost digital cam to send pics to the forum members.

Are you keeping nile tilapia?

Michael, that is the great thing about Tilapia, fast breeding. Have you thought of setting up a 10 gal. tank. Of course that is what I did in setting up the 20 gal, then I found they ate the newborns and have another tank, and seeing I can't stand the thought of loosing any new batches, I know I will set up 2 more, maybe even a string of 10 gals.

From what I can tell I have 2 different species of Tilapia. The ones with spots down the side are Spotted tilapia (Tilapia mariae) which are an african chichlid introduced into Florida by being released by Dade County fish farms during the early 1970's. I think the other one looks like the nile tilapia (Oreochromis nilotcus) from what I have found on the internet, it is smoother in its appearance, with no spots, but has a pinkish underbelly and tail fin area. Not sure of this one.

Thanks Monya, it feels great to be this far along.

Now, I'm getting impatient. Do I need to start seeds, or can already started more mature plants go in to grow beds?

either or Joyce, just make sure you wash the roots off established seedlings before they go in.

The cycle from the time the sump pump turns on until it turns on again is 24 sec., with the pump running 10 sec. and in between time 14 sec. The grow bed pipes have 1/4" holes in them, even though not a lot of water comes out each hole the water as a whole is alot. Should I put a timer on the system?

That is a lot of cycling for the pump. Twice a min? Does your sump get full that fast?
