Yeah I know... but a deal was made long ago when I was younger and more naive... She gets the inside so long as I can do what I want outside and to the outside of the house...
Worse, she remembers that deal... :-(
The only way she forgets is when she's got a heap of cash in her pocket, and well, that has just as negative effect on AP... :-(

Sprinklers came on again tonight.
pH before was 7.4 (High Range) or 7.8 (Low Range) - just to ensure that I was not being misled by the end of range issue.

After the sprinklers had been on, the pH was 8.0. I expect that more alkalinity will accumulate as the GB (in the sprinkler spray - the biggest culprit) is flushed by the flood & drain.

I used only 100mL of my dilute acid today and will check pH tomorrow.

Hi Tony, I found that my problems with high pH went away about the same time as nitrite dropped to 0. Maybe a coincidence.
I was adding phosphoric acid to lower pH but had stopped in the week before it happened. I had nitrites for 2 weeks. How long have you found them present?

Water chemistry is a very vast and complicated thing. I don't know exactly but I am sure the sudden pH swing has rather a lot to do with the cycling process.
