Hello,

Another New south Welshman rears his head. Good to see the community is growing and looking forward to sharing with all. Have spent a moment or ten cruising the pages and love it, has totally destroyed my productivity at work...do work??? :( surf Aquaponics??? :) ...its no contest the accounts will wait. :D As with many have huge aspirations of that ultimate system but lack patience and abilty so really looking forward to a bumpy ride  . But happy to share the dream and the reality of the ride.

Hello, Well I'm up near psychochook, but on the beach almost near byron bay.
Ummm... have kept a lot of fish and bred a few too.
Have a nice veggie garden and working on combining the 2 together.
Don't mind a bit of DIY.
Bit of a fish geek and mod/report/own and contribute to a fair few groups/sites/newsletters on the fish. Keeps me off the streets anyway.

Hello to all,

We are another NSW AP initiative (near Berry, NSW) that got underway about 6 months ago using a UVI raft type system following the advice of Dr Wilson Lennard (www.aquaponic.com.au). We have started at hobby scale but hope to advance to a small commercial operation as I move into full retirement. I would like to thank Joel Malcolm and this forum that first introduced me to AP.

Been around a little while but thought I should add myself in here now that I actually have a small system up and running. I am in Wollongong.

Hi Twintragics,

I was surprised to get a couple of responses to my short message so quickly. Just shows how active this Backyard Aquaponics forum is!

My wife and I made contact with Wilson Lennard at an Aquaculture/Aquaponics symposium held in the Fish Market in Sydney about September 2006. He and other speakers such as Jim Rakocy and Nick Savidov were en-route to some major Aquaculture Conference in Adelaide. Wilson was interested in helping the likes of me with a small acreage and an interest in some retirement pocket money. I have found his advice very useful. Beyond that, I think you need to talk to him direct. Use the website contact I supplied. I will give some thought to supplying some photos of our set-up but it is significantly different than the ebb and flow system. Cheers.

Hello RupertofOz,

Yes, I'm in your area fairly often myself. I know Deb at Bellawongarah B&B well but live a little distance down the road. Maybe reciprocal visits. Send me a PM. I have been what you guys call a lurker for a while because of my somewhat different set-up and circumstances but have got a lot of useful info off the forum (eg Steves info on nitrite concentration which was an issue for me at one stage and someone elses automatic dog -I mean -fish feeder more recently) so felt I might be able to offer something in return in the future. Incidentally, I have noted with interest a lot of your personal contributions. Thanks for the interest.
